Mitchell Marsh feels optimistic about the ODI World Cup in 2023 after Australia defeats Sri Lanka

Australia has had a comeback, and ace all-rounder Mitchell Marsh is optimistic about the 2023 ODI World Cup after their five-wicket victory against Sri Lanka on Monday in Lucknow. With 15 overs remaining and a stunning sandstorm in the background, the Pat Cummins-led squad, which is comprised of five-time winners, recorded their first victory in a game that was disrupted by rain.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-240549″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-mitchell-marsh-feels-optimistic-about-the-odi-world-cup-in-2023-after-australia-de-750×563.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com mitchell marsh feels optimistic about the odi world cup in 2023 after australia de” width=”1242″ height=”932″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-mitchell-marsh-feels-optimistic-about-the-odi-world-cup-in-2023-after-australia-de-750×563.jpg 750w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-mitchell-marsh-feels-optimistic-about-the-odi-world-cup-in-2023-after-australia-de-1024×768.jpg 1024w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-mitchell-marsh-feels-optimistic-about-the-odi-world-cup-in-2023-after-australia-de-768×576.jpg 768w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-mitchell-marsh-feels-optimistic-about-the-odi-world-cup-in-2023-after-australia-de-150×113.jpg 150w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-mitchell-marsh-feels-optimistic-about-the-odi-world-cup-in-2023-after-australia-de.jpg 1200w” sizes=”(max-width: 1242px) 100vw, 1242px” title=”Mitchell Marsh feels optimistic about the ODI World Cup in 2023 after Australia defeats Sri Lanka 3″>

Adam Zampa performs well and demolishes Sri Lanka’s batting order

Adam Zampa put up a tremendous performance, destroying Sri Lanka’s batting order with 4/47 in his eight overs. Initially off to a great start at 125-0, the Kusal Mendis-led Sri Lankan team eventually lost wickets in short succession, posting a modest total of 209 runs in 43.3 overs. Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perera were the Sri Lankan openers, and they both scored 61 and 78 runs, respectively.

In a news conference, Marsh emphasized his happiness, saying, “It was a great day for us. Due to a poor start, we came into the game under some strain, but our seasoned players responded to the challenge. On the right path, indeed. Although I wouldn’t say we were introspective, the sorrow of our defeat against South Africa was evident. I hope this triumph, which honors my father’s extraordinary strike rate, is a crucial start in the right path.
