In the first innings of the second Test between the two teams at Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town, Indian bowler Mohammed Siraj led the way for the men in blue as they swept out the South African batting order for a pitiful score of 55 runs.

On the first day of the second Test, Siraj led the Indian bowling attack by taking six wickets to end the South African innings before lunch.

After winning the toss, South African captain Dean Elgar decided to bat first, and India scored runs with the ball right away.

Siraj removed Proteas batsman Aiden Markram for a meager 2 runs off 10 deliveries, ending the innings. Siraj then sent Tony de Zorzi back to the hut for two runs after dismissing Elgar for only four runs, destroying the top order of the Proteas batting order.

As captain Rohit Sharma hung on to the catching chance offered to him by the South African batter, Jasprit Bumrah got involved in the action, taking Tristian Stubbs for his first wicket of the match.

Siraj tore through the hosts in a furious manner, looking fearsome as ever.

Siraj continued on his assault at the other end, dismissing David Bedingham, Kyle Verreyne, and Marco Jansen for 12, 15, and a duck, respectively, wreaking havoc in the SA middle order.

Before Bumrah wrapped up the Protea innings in just 23.2 overs by scalping Nandre Burger for a meager 4 runs to bundle out the hosts for just 55 runs, pacer Mukesh Kumar chipped in with two wickets of his own, sending tail-enders Keshav Maharaj and Kagiso Rabada back to the pavilion for 3 runs and 5 runs.

KL Rahul made a few catches behind the wicket, but Yashasvi Jaiswal was busy in the field, holding on to three catches.

In an attempt to win and even the two-match Test series in South Africa, India will want to build on the outstanding start given by the pace unit.
