the first in 48 years! Mohammed Shami sets a huge record in Mumbai during his match against New Zealand

In the ICC events, India has finally broken the knockout curse against New Zealand, defeating them for the first time. The men in blue advanced to the final in fine fashion, winning by 70 runs after holding the formidable opposition to a 397-run total in the first semifinal at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. They now own the second-best winning run in World Cup history after winning ten straight games.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-280550″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-the-first-in-48-years-mohammed-shami-sets-a-huge-record-in-mumbai-during-his-match-750×422.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com the first in 48 years mohammed shami sets a huge record in mumbai during his match” width=”1210″ height=”681″ title=”the first in 48 years! Although the run is the second greatest in the event’s history, India’s Mohammed Shami is quickly rising to the top. Despite playing in only six matches so far in the competition, the guy has already claimed 23 wickets at an average of 9.13, including three five-wicket hauls. Additionally, he broke Mitchell Starc’s record of taking 50 wickets in 19 innings by being the quickest to achieve that milestone in only 18 innings at the World Cup.

In addition, Shami made history by being the first bowler to ever claim four five-wicket hauls at a World Cup. He had taken a wicket in the World Cup against eventual winners England the year before, and he has now achieved the unimaginable by taking three wickets in this World Cup. Before Shami, no other bowler had taken four wickets in a World Cup match; Mitchell Starc’s three wicket hauls were the best in this category.

Shami, however, has swiftly overtaken everyone since entering India’s starting lineup for the World Cup’s fourth game. With the final due to be played on Sunday, November 19, Shami will be eager to use his bowling to win more honours for his nation.
