The Indian team records their longest ODI victory streak as Rohit Sharma overtakes captains Dhoni and Kohli

India extended their incredible run in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, checking off another box when they defeated New Zealand, who had been their nemesis. The Men in Blue won their tenth consecutive World Cup game as the batsmen amassed an enormous 397 runs on the board, while the bowlers held the total, although not without a struggle. India has the greatest winning streak in the ODI World Cup, but this is the second-longest.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-280561″ src=”×422.jpg” alt=” the indian team records their longest odi victory streak as rohit sharma overtakes” width=”1393″ height=”784″ title=”The Indian team records their longest ODI victory streak as Rohit Sharma overtakes captains Dhoni and Kohli 6″ srcset=”×422.jpg 750w,×576.jpg 1024w,×432.jpg 768w,×220.jpg 390w,×84.jpg 150w, 1200w” sizes=”(max-width: 1393px) 100vw, 1393px” />

Under the direction of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, respectively, Team India won nine games in a row twice in 2008–09 and 2017; Rohit Sharma has since broken the record, equating India with the records of the West Indies, Pakistan, Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, England, and New Zealand—all of whom have at least one 10-match winning streak.
