They provide many difficulties. They play quickly and often make threes, so this was an excellent test for us as we worked to figure it out,” Tatum said. “I think the way we ended the game was good.”

The 25-year-old forward Tatum became the first player in Celtics history to score 10,000 points in his career at a young age.

That is unique. That’s awesome, Tatum said. “I’m really fortunate to work for a fantastic brand. I hope to have a lot more games left to play and win.

After two trades, former Milwaukee guard Jrue Holiday made his way to Boston, where he delivered 18 points, 10 assists, and 9 rebounds.

“Everyone is radiant,” said Tatum. “This crew is amazing. It’s entertaining us. Our play is intense. We are rivals.

The Philadelphia 76ers, one game behind the Celtics, maintained their momentum with a 112-100 victory against visiting Phoenix led by Joel Embiid, who scored 26 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.

The 76ers (4-1) were led by Tyrese Maxey, who scored 22 points and dished out 10 assists on his 23rd birthday, Kelly Oubre, who added 25 points, and Tobias Harris, who finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Whether it was making the correct read, receiving an assist, or scoring the ball, Maxey said, “I was trying to be aggressive.”

“I’m trying to judge when to be really aggressive and when to penetrate the paint in order to set up Joel and Kelly for easy baskets. Right now, I believe I’m doing a good job at it.

In James Harden’s place, who was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers, Maxey has showed promise.

“Coach, Joel, and Tobias have faith in me to see what I see on the court.” I really appreciate their trust, and it has been amazing,” Maxey said.

“It has been great because I know what my role is.”

In other league games, Kevin Durant led the Suns in scoring with 31 points and eight rebounds in a losing effort.

Denver, the reigning champion, beat Chicago 123-101 to take the lead in the Western Conference and go to 6-1.

The host Nuggets were led by Nikola Jokic, who finished with 28 points, 16 rebounds, and nine assists. Michael Porter and Aaron Gordon each scored 27 points and 12 rebounds for Denver.

The host Orlando Magic defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 120–101 thanks to the scoring of 26 points from German big Franz Wagner and 25 points and a career-high 10 assists from Paolo Banchero.

“I feel good,” Banchero said. “I’ve worked really hard. Summertime was a long one. Being back makes me happier than words can express.

Regarding his ten assists, he said, “You can score the ball, make the plays, but what I love to do is make others better.” “I went there and made an effort to hold the defense accountable.”

The Lakers started a four-game road trip with Anthony Davis leading the way with 28 points, 13 rebounds, seven blocked shots, and LeBron James adding 24 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
