A report from Arynews.tv claims that Babar has spent INR 7 lakhs on an exquisite sherwani and fine jewelry from India. Just before the ODI World Cup, Babar’s colleague Shaheen Shah Afridi wed Shahid Afridi’s daughter.

The top-ranked ODI batsman is spending his time in India taking care of all the wedding-related shopping since he plans to marry the knot after the World Cup.

According to a source, “Babar Azam’s extravagant purchase came at an unexpected time, as his wedding is scheduled for the end of this year.”

Babar has only managed to score 241 runs at the World Cup so far, making it a forgettable experience for him. Pakistan, which was playing against fellow top-four contenders New Zealand, had only won three of their first seven group stage matches. Their aspirations of making it to the semifinals were almost nonexistent.
